Business Days: Why Counting a Range Differs from Adding Days
A five-day task can end on different dates depending on whether its start day counts. Weekend and holiday choices also matter. Utilgo’s current business-day tool supports dates in 2026 only.
Last updated:Read the two results separately
With Saturday/Sunday weekends and no holidays, 2–6 November 2026 contains five business days. Adding five business days to 2 November instead gives 9 November. Range counting includes both endpoints; adding days starts on the following day. These results answer different questions.
Apply your actual work calendar
Select non-working weekdays and review holidays. In this example, adding 3 November as a full holiday reduces the range to four days and moves the five-day result to 10 November. This is an illustrative company closure, not a claim about an official holiday. Do not assume country selection includes every workplace closure.
Check partial days and delivery conditions
A holiday line of 2026-11-03 0.5 subtracts half a day; 1 subtracts a full day. Review each date’s capacity in the table. Shipping or service cut-off times are not part of this calculation. It is not a legal deadline ruling or delivery guarantee; verify the organization’s actual calendar.
