Tile Quantity Calculator Guide
This guide plans ceramic tiles for bathrooms and kitchens in your browser. Net area gives single tile area, then pieces and boxes with waste. Five to ten percent covers cuts and breakage. Single-batch orders prevent shade gaps. Interior dimensions keep deductions honest.
Step by step
- Measure net area in meters, enter it.
- Enter tile length and width in centimeters.
- Review pieces, confirm upward rounding.
- Select five to ten percent extra.
- Enter pieces per box, check box count.
- Order all boxes from one batch.
Example scenario
A 23 square meter floor with 30 by 60 centimeter tiles: one tile covers 0.18 square meters, so 23 divided by 0.18 gives 127.78 pieces. Rounded up to 128, plus ten percent waste reaches 140.8. In practice 141 tiles; at 8 per box that is 17.63 boxes, rounded up to 18 from one batch.
Check your result
Verify net area, tile size and box content separately. Multiply tile dimensions manually, always round up. Mark cut edges on the plan. Keep spares at five to ten percent, never mix batches.
