Timezone conversion

The world is divided into 24 time zones. UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the reference point. Each country/time zone is expressed as an offset (difference) from UTC.

Turkey: UTC+3 (daylight saving time abolished, permanent UTC+3).

US: Eastern Time (UTC-5/-4), Central (UTC-6/-5), Mountain (UTC-7/-6), Pacific (UTC-8/-7).

Europe: CET (UTC+1/+2), GMT (UTC+0/+1). Asia: JST (UTC+9), CST (UTC+8).

Note: Countries with DST have offsets that change by season. Turkey does not apply DST.

Countdown and timer

Countdown timer: Shows remaining time until a specific date/time. Used for events, launches, exams.

Timer: Counts down a specific duration and alerts when time is up. Ideal for Pomodoro technique (25 min work + 5 min break).

Stopwatch: Measures elapsed time. Used for sports, races, and performance measurement.

Practical: Embed a countdown timer on your event page. Share on social media.

Date difference calculation

Calculates the difference between two dates in days, months, and years. Used for project planning, delivery date calculation, and age calculation.

Business day calculation: Calculates the number of business days by excluding weekends and holidays.

Note: Leap year calculations require attention. February can be 28 or 29 days.

Unix timestamp

Unix timestamp is the number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC. Used to store date/time in programming and databases.

Example: 1700000000 = November 14, 2023 22:13:20 UTC. 0 = January 1, 1970 (Unix epoch).

Advantages: Timezone-independent, easy comparison and sorting, efficient storage.

Disadvantages: 2038 problem (overflow on 32-bit systems on January 19, 2038). No issue on 64-bit systems.
